Dampierre-sur-Boutonne National Competition 2025.

Milord competed on August 23, 2025, in the 3-year-old category at the Dampierre National Competition.

He received a score of 80, placing second on the podium, but curiously placed behind a small, unapproved donkey, clearly outclassed, to the astonishment of the public, and in particular the German delegation, who were very involved and very diligent at this competition.

This is not an isolated case. There is increasing favoritism, let’s say cronyism, in competitions.

The jury’s sovereignty is being abused.

This tarnishes the spirit of preserving the breed and no longer encourages breeders to participate.

One wonders whether the ranking is based on the animal’s IQ or the judges’ concept of ethics.
